Hi DUGs,
Upcoming performances
Suddenly, it's September!
A quick check of the diary shows only five Wednesdays before the Loch Lomond Strumday... and only THREE meetings before the Findhorn Festival!
I sent an email out to all those involved, suggesting we stay on for half an hour after our Wednesday meetings (9.30 - 10.00), rather than the hour before, as we have been doing. I have only had three responses. One is okay with the suggestion - two would prefer not to stay later.
That has left me in a bit of a quandary. So, I am going to do both this week. I will have the hall set up for an early rehearsal (7.00 - 7.30), and I will also stay on for a half hour, after our normal meeting (9.30 - 10.00). If you can make one, or both of these, please do.
Rehearsals will now be with music sheets and stands, rather than projector.
Of course, not everyone can manage the extra time, and I don't expect you to. I will update the Play-along Videos on the website to incorporate any revisions.
The latest updates are available in the LLU folder in the Play-along section of the Our Songs page:

Up to Resources Play-along videos - for practising some our songs. (Some of these videos play along with original artists' recordings - some with play-longs from other ukulele players - some are Doune Ukulele Group)

Open Mic
At time of writing, we don't have an open mic this week. I would urge anyone who is planning to do an open mic spot at Findhorn and/or Loch Lomond to get up in front of our group to get a bit of practice/confidence.
Playlist
For the last few months, I have been keeping a record of songs members have called out after our main playlists (I know, sad. I really should get out more!)
So, this week's playlist comprises of the top-ten, most requested songs:
Top ten - in reverse order...
10. Part of the Union
9. Big Yellow Taxi
8. If I Had a Million Dollars
7. Wagon Wheel
6. Whiskey in the Jar
5. Country Roads
4. Dirty Old Town
3. Texas Hold 'Em
2. Bad Moon Rising
1. Shotgun
Think you could come up with a better list?
PLEASE let me know. I am always looking out for other members' choices.
