Spicy Chicken Wings

Ingredients

500g chicken wings

Marinade
3 tbsp light Soy Sauce
3 tbsp. brown sugar

Spice Mixture
½ tsp black pepper powder
½ tsp chilli powder
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp paprika
½ tsp chicken powder or half a chicken stock cube.

Cooking Steps 

Step 1
Combine soy sauce and brown sugar in a bowl.

Coat the chicken wings with this mixture.
In a separate bowl, mix the spice mixture powders together and sprinkle over the chicken wings. Toss to coat evenly.  Arrange the wings in a single layer on a tray or plate.  Pour any remaining marinade over the wings.  Refrigerate for 1 hour, flipping the wings halfway through.

Step 2
Heat oil in a frying pan. Add the marinated wings and brown them on all sides.  Cover the pan and cook for 5 minutes.  Uncover and cook for an additional 5 minutes.

Remove the wings from the pan and set aside.

Step 3 - Final Touches

In the same pan add garlic paste and 1 tsp chili flakes.

Pour in any remaining marinade.  Return the wings to the pan and cook for 2 more minutes.

Serve: with a Blue cheese dipping sauce
