Provisional Programme for 2020
For 2020 a wide and varied programme is being planned. An outline is given below and is subject to confirmation. Many meetings are open to non-members (£10 charge), please see contact details on home page. Generally the meetings are on the third Thursday of the month, commencing 8.00pm in the Buckingham Community Centre. (The main exception is the January meeting.)
January 30 - Social with wine tasting
February 20 - "Gin and Tea" Dee Lockhart will be talking about hand blended teas and gins, we will be sampling.
March 19 - "Call My Bluff" This is a wine orientated twist on the old panel game. A panel will describe the wine that we are tasting. Only one description is correct. The task is to guess which one is correct
April 16- A mini-meal serving with wines that complement the food. Ron Gleeson returns with hugely popular event. Pre-booking will be necessary to facilitate catering
May 21- The Pieroth family has been making wince since 1675, and have not stopped since. They will be introducing some wines, from their extensive selection, for us to taste.
June 18- Mid-Summer dinner (Time and venue to be confirmed)
July 16 - Virgin Wines, the on-line wine seller, will bring a selection of wines for us to sample
August 20 - See the vines and taste the wines at the Chafor vineyard (Gawcott) hopefully served with a pizza or paella
September 10 to 14 - Loire valley visit (limited places, members only)
September 17- After their successful presentation in 2019, John and Sian Horton will return to explore Italian wines
October 15- A return visit for an always popular wine tasting at Waddesdon Manor (limited places, members only)
November 19- AGM with wine to help
December (date to be confirmed) - Christmas Dinner (Time and venue to be confirmed)
