Bute Pride
7th August - Friday morning / afternoon - decorating Rothesay town centre
Come along and help! Details to follow of where & when to meet.
4pm -6:45pm - Screening of LGBTQ+ Community film "Exiled for Existing" (7 minutes RT) & musical movie "Rent" (135minutes RT). Venue: Cinema at Winter Gardens (immediately to right of ferry terminal). Please aim to arrive by 3:50pm latest as the welcome & screening will begin promptly as soon as everyone is seated. (capacity 100).
8:30pm-late: Venue: Anchor Tavern, Port Bannatyne - Ripper Moff (Award winning Non-binary Burlesque performer & Bute Pride host) presents an evening of fun, games and slighly cheeky humour to kick off Bute pride proper! Look out for our performers: Tom Harlow & Katabatic Bloom will be giving short performances you can sing along with. Or bring your own energy, enthiusiasm & Pride anthem to perform yourself!!
If you can’t make it, (or can’t get in!) try the Rabbie Bar in Rothesay for Karoake and fun.
8th August Main Bute Pride Day (All FREE to access) Full details and set list here
12-1pm: gather at Isle of Bute Seasports Club (soft beverages , facepaints, flags, stickers & tattoos available) and get ready for the Parade - get your own face paints, stickers, whistles and flags ready
1:30pm: Parade sets off along the Prom, up past the Castle and ends at Bute Yard by 1:55pm - please follow directions of the Parade Marshals who are there to keep you safe as well as March themselves!
2-7pm: Venue: Bute Yard - Family friendly entertainment, activities & information stalls (see PRIDE page for list & info), Kids zone in the Yurt, Quiet space in the Event Shelter, Food and bar open.
6:50-10pm: Bute Yard Adult- orientated entertainment & disco, quiet zone in the Yurt. Bar open. See Pride page for details.
10pm- late: for those with any energy left you will be most welcome at the Galatea bar round the corner from Bute Yard, or at Rabbies bar (PLEASE NOTE - this is not an affiliated event this year).
9th August Sunday Recovery Events
Wellbeing with Pride Event
Join us for a few hours of recovery from everything we have gone through this past year or so - a day of mindfulness and recovery at a pleasant slow pace. Brought to you from our goiod friends at Bute Community Forest.
A drive to Rhubodach; a gentle walk into the forest; a soundbath IN the forest - and take time to just be... and breathe.
Meet time: 11-11:15am
Venue: Guilford Square - minibus opposite the ferry - or drive yourself , or take the local bus to Rhubodach.

12th July - Committee Meeting with Bute Pride Planning focus

Come along and join us to discuss what we are planning, see how you can help or volunteer at any of our upcoming events or Bute Pride. This meeting will focus mainly on final planning, fine-tuning, co-ordinating and communications for the Bute Pride weekend 7-9th August.
12th July - Monthly Social Gathering

venue: Bute Yard - with food by Cast & Ember who will do some of the main catering at Bute Pride main event 8th August. Come along for a chat, a laugh or to share anything you need to share, ask questions and maybe even get some answers - or just enjoy the venue. If you have any suggestions for group social events / things to do over the next 12 months bring those ides along with you.
