Long service awards for BNTA committee members

At the annual general meeting on 16 June Chairman Violet Harrison presented some committee members, past and present, with long service awards from the National Trust.

The awards, which are calculated in five-year increments were:

Valerie Edwards: 40 years

Dorothy Jamieson: 40 years

Diane Bell: 25 years

Garry Telling: 15 years

Betty Thomas: 10 years

Rosemary Ostley: 5 years

Jenny Barnes of the National Trust Midlands and East of England Supporters Group Team wrote:

‘We would like to take this opportunity to thank them for their volunteering. Supporters play a vital role in bringing to life the places we care for and opening them up for everyone to enjoy.  Sharing unique experiences and finding out more about these spaces is what being part of a local National Trust group is all about.’

All the above members were presented with a certificate and pin badge, although Dorothy’s were retained for her as she was unable to be at the meeting.

Bedford National Trust Association raises funds for National Trust work.  This year we are donating to Houghton Mill and Willington Dovecot and Stables.
