MRS JANET BROOKS
Reluctantly we are saying goodbye to Janet Brooks, who decided that she would stand down from the committee in 2025 for health reasons.
Janet has been a faithful and enthusiastic member of BNTA and has contributed fully, especially with her service as Treasurer from 2007 until 2023. She then continued to help the new Treasurer, Janice Smith, with advice as well as sharing her views with the committee in their discussions and decisions. She kept a tight hand on our finances which has meant we are still able to contribute funds to various National Trust projects.
Like many of us, Janet has supported our holidays and visits, always with a smiling face and with friendliness to all members, especially welcoming new people to our Association. Over the years she has helped Maureen to stuff envelopes with newsletters and application forms before going out for a pub lunch as her reward. She has guided those of us who ran day visits with advice about costs. She has been the first face many of you will have seen at our winter meetings when she has taken your entry fees at the door.
We would like to extend our good wishes to her and hope she enjoys a happy ‘second’ retirement with reading and gardening to amuse her.
Thank you Janet.
