Subject: Request for meeting: SuDS responsibility and documentation – Badbury Park Phases 1 & 2

Dear Rachel and Matthew,

The Coate (Badbury Park) Residents Working Group is writing on behalf of residents to request a meeting with Remus to discuss the current position regarding responsibility for the Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS) serving Badbury Park Phases 1 and 2.

Swindon Borough Council (SBC) has confirmed that it is unable to provide documentation identifying responsibility for the SuDS on Phases 1 and 2, in contrast to Phase 3 where arrangements appear clearer. We have submitted a complaint to the Local Government and Social Care Ombudsman for review.

In the meantime, as the developers passed responsibility for management of the site to Remus as Managing Agent in 2022, residents are seeking clarity on the information and documentation held by Remus.

In particular, we would be grateful to discuss:

  • Whether the developers provided Remus with any documentation relating to the design, construction, and responsibility for the SuDS on Phases 1 and 2;
  • Whether any maintenance, management, or adoption arrangements for these SuDS are defined within the documentation held by Remus;
  • Whether the site snagging report from 2022 identified any issues relating to the SuDS features.

Residents are keen to understand the current position and to ensure that drainage infrastructure is being managed appropriately and in line with its intended design.

We would welcome the opportunity to meet and discuss this at a mutually convenient time.

Kind regards,
Peter
