ASCA has been delivering services to the community for over 20 years.  We can offer our services to most people with a strong desire to take back their lives, regardless of their means. We offer the following services:

One-to-one counselling for people with addictions

People often reach a realisation that no matter what they do to try to shake off a habit, be it weekend binge drinking or daily drug use, it does not work. They find themselves repeating the same behaviours often with catastrophic results. Our best thinking gets us nowhere!

If you have reached this point, you know that you probably need outside help in breaking the cycle and keeping it broken. Talking therapy is an established treatment for addictive behaviour, problem drinking and drug use.

At ASCA you will be professionally assessed by one of the managers and then placed with a therapist who can help you uncover the underlying issues that as well as address your drug/alcohol misuse.

One-to-one counselling for those who care for or are affected by someone else with an addiction

If you have someone in your life experiencing addiction issues you may find that caring for them, or even just being around them, can be confusing, frustrating and sometimes lonely. There may be times when, however much you care for them, you feel that you don’t know them. Sudden and regular changes in their behaviour may make you feel unsettled and anxious.

We provide a confidential, expert service which will give you a chance to work through these feelings and experiences and find ways to deal with them more easily.

Groups for carers of people with addiction issues

In this group you are able to meet other carers, understand more about addiction and to share experiences and learn from each other. It is a confidential space, for carers only. We cover topics including understanding addiction, living with someone else’s addictions, practical strategies for keeping yourself safe and how to care for yourself.

How to get in touch with us

If you would like to contact us to enquire about our services, or for any other reason, please contact us by phoning 020 8940 1160 or emailing ranjit@addiction support.co.uk. We promise to get back to you as quick as we can. If you phone and get an answerphone, please don’t worry. If you leave us a message, this will be kept in the strictest confidence and will not be overheard.

We know that the best time to act on getting help is the moment you feel ready to, so don’t hesitate! We are here for you.

What you can expect

When we first speak with you, we will take some basic details over the phone and arrange an initial appointment so we can discuss your current needs and how we may be able to support you.

After this initial meeting, if we can feel we can help, we will either ask you to join a group or allocate you to a therapist. If you start working with a therapist, we will ask you to make an initial commitment to six sessions to start with. This is reviewed and can be extended over a longer period.

Please note to help cover our costs everyone who uses our service makes a contribution. We initially discuss this with everyone who calls our service and agan at the assessment appointment.
