Two discussions about setting up a Climate Emergency Centre/Community Hub in central Kingston took place in July, one on-line with a presentation from Phoenix and Ruth of Climate Emergency Centre and one in real life at Kingston Environment Centre, where interested groups and individuals began to get to know each other and consider the work that will be needed. With Climate Emergency Centres springing up around the country, Kingston Council's Climate Emergency Declaration, and numerous vacant shops in central Kingston and the Council and Kingstonfirst looking for new ways to animate the town centre, there has never been a better time to get a Climate Emergency Centre off the ground in Kingston.

Regular meetings will be taking place every month on 2nd and 4th Tuesdays, 7pm, at Kingston Environment Centre, from 17th August 2021. All are welcome to come along to share hopes, ideas, experience, expertise and offers of help to make this happen. Watch KEF, TTK and Kingston XR Facebook pages and websites and Kingston Environment News for updates on progress - and for homework/preparation, read the CEC Handbook at https://climateemergencycentre.co.uk/handbook/.
