WHAT IS SHOPMOBILITY?

ShopMobility is a scheme providing powered scooters and manual wheel-chairs to enable people with limited mobility access to shops, services and leisure facilities in and around Yeovil.

WHO CAN USE SHOPMOBILITY?

Anyone with limited mobility can use ShopMobility, whether through permanent or temporary disability, illness, accident or age.

HOW MUCH DOES IT COST?

Yeovil ShopMobility is dependent on charitable support but it does ask a small charge for the service.

All monies raised through hire charges help cover the day-to-day running costs of the charity.

LONG TERM HIRE

ShopMobility has a number of electric transportable scooters and manual wheelchairs for long term hire that can easily fold down and be placed in a boot of a car.

REGISTRATION

You will be required to register at Yeovil ShopMobility for insurance purposes. Proof of identity (e.g. driving licence, passport, utility bill, blue badge) must be provided when you register.  We require photographic identification as well as proof of address, dated within the last 3 months.

All of our customers will be trained in the safe use of our equipment.

BOOKINGS

It is advisable to book in advance where possible, to ensure that a suitable mobility aid/volunteer is available. We have an answerphone, which operates outside normal opening times.

Please Note: Messages left out of hours will be picked up on our next working day.

TRANSPORT

  • A service to meet customers at the local Bus Station can be provided by prior arrangement.
  • Delivery of transportable scooters to South West Coaches can be arranged, however there may be an additional charge for delivery.

SPECIAL SERVICES

All hires are at the discretion of the ShopMobility Manager. Special assisted services may be available for which an additional charge may apply.
