APPEARANCE AND REALITY: WHAT SHOULD THE LAKE DISTRICT LOOK LIKE?

Chris Belshaw lake district discussion

We live in a park. But what is a park, and what should this one look like? Some will say it should look beautiful, or natural, well cared for, or left to the wild. Some think it should look the way it’s always looked, others that we should move with the times, still others that there’s no way, in particular, that it should look.

We will talk more about both the questions and the answers. And we should  take note  of what William Wordsworth and Beatrix Potter, the National Trust and the LDNPA,  farmers and rewilders have had to say
