Hi chaps,
Some photos from another successful TWITS outing, the brass plaque is situated in the Virgin First Class Lounge at Crewe station and many will recognise the famous clock maker.
The large church at the top of the hill is noteworthy as is the remains of a Roman wall opposite and an old sandstone mileage post was noted but unfortunately the writing was illegible.
After being guided to the Powells Pies bakery for an hilarious sampling&buying spree we had our photo taken by the staff for their website, these are truly scrumptious pies and you can watch them being made, visiting here is a must if in Whitchurch.Luckily enough when the heavens opened we were in The Eagles pub and looking outside saw us enter into a learned discussion about overflowing gutters and drainpipes.
All the pubs served excellent beers and were very welcoming and as usual the impromptu quizzes went down well so when will The TWITS be appearing on the Eggheads quiz you never know ! Apart from The Old Town Vaults all the pubs visited had an animal in the name and train connections were on schedule.
Again a very enjoyable and informative trip with much irreverent conversation and hearty laughter and much needed income given to local pubs and as ever all are welcome to join in,there’s nothing like being a complete and utter TWIT.
Kind regards P.T.Barker
