Safeguarding

At St Barnabas, we have a history of ministry and service with vulnerable adults and children.  We take our safeguarding responsibilities very seriously and endeavour to keep all those in our care safe from harm of all kinds.  To this end, we ensure that our leaders and helpers have a current DBS clearance (Disclosure and Barring Service) before working with children and vulnerable adults.

St. Barnabas Safeguarding Representative is Sarah Ford.  She may be contacted with any questions or concerns on email safeguarding@stbarnabas-epsom.org.uk

You can also call the office on Tel: 01372 417813 to ask to speak to Sarah and you will be given her mobile number.

Are You a Survivor of Abuse?

It is vital our churches are safe places for people to tell their stories of abuse, and where people listen and respond well.  The Diocese of Guildford is committed to the support of those who have suffered or are still suffering abuse from members of the clergy, or others in positions of trust and authority within the church.

The diocese has in place a team of Authorised Listeners, female and male, who have undergone a formal recruitment and training process. A listener is able to provide an attentive and attuned listening ear to help those in need to talk about their experiences.
