Rules for the Southport Chrysanthemum & Gardening Society Spring and Autumn Shows
1. Persons wishing to exhibit must fill in the entry form.
2. Floral Art entries must be received by the Show Secretary 48 hours before the date of the show. Emailed entry forms can be sent to scgs1949@gmail.com Personal details from entry forms will be kept under the UK GDPR for 2 years.
3. The Committee reserve the right to refuse an entry for any reason.
4. Entry fees to the amount indicated on the entry form must be paid before staging.
5. No refund of any entry will be made in respect of any exhibit not staged.
6. All exhibits, except in the classes for Floral Art, as shown in the schedule, must have been grown by the Exhibitor for at least 3 months prior to the Show.
7. An Exhibitor may not stage more than 3 entries in any one class.
8. Vases are provided by the Society.
9. Exhibitors must apply at the Show Secretary’s table in the Exhibition Hall for cards to be placed by them in front of the appropriate exhibits at the time of the staging.
10. Exhibits can only be staged during the hours specified in the schedule.
11. Points will be awarded for trophies and medals as follows: 1st Prize; 3 points 2nd prize; 2 points 3rd Prize; 1 point. In the event of a tie, the winner will be decided by most first, then second, then third prizes if necessary.
12. Any exhibitor obtaining or attempting to obtain a prize fraudulently will forfeit the whole of any prize money they may otherwise have been entitled to.
13. All exhibits not in accordance with the Show Schedule will be disqualified.
14. Children must make their own exhibits, but can be helped to stage them.
15. Exhibitors will be asked if they intend to collect their exhibits. Any exhibits not collected by 5pm on Sunday will be disposed of.
16. All exhibits, personal property, etc will be at the risk of exhibitors. The Southport Chrysanthemum and Gardening Society will not be liable for compensation for loss or damage by theft, fire, water, accident or any cause whatsoever.
17. All trophies remain the property of the Society and must be returned in good condition to the Hon Secretary after 12 months.
18. A Novice, is an exhibitor who has not won more than three first prizes in the appropriate section entered at any show prior to this year.
