Southport Chrysanthemum and Gardening Society

David is likely to be a familiar figure to our flower arranging friends and we hope that they will enjoy his demonstration for Christmas. Based in Cumbria, David is an RHS Chelsea Flower Show gold medal winner.  David’s inspiration and love of flowers and gardens come from humbler beginnings; from his parents who grew and sold cut flowers. “They sold them in simple bunches from their shop and when dad was asked to provide bouquets I quickly taught myself how so we could earn more money.”

A high point of his career was in providing a floral display for the memorial service for Prince Philip and we look forward to seeing his inspirational work. In 2002 David represented the UK at the World Floral Show in Glasgow with a demonstration entitled ‘Colour the World’.
