A year round garden with Michel Myers

Tuesday 30 June 2026
19:30 to 21:00

We finish the season for the Society with a most prestigious speaker who is especially known for his interests in alpines and snowdrops.  He is currently a lecturer at Craven College, advises the RHS at their shows and has his own garden which is occasionally open to the public.  His career began with gaining an impressive set of qualifications, culminating in BSc (Plant Biology) and HND in Horticulture and started teaching at Craven College in 2001.

After leaving university he ran his own landscaping business and organised courses for Harlow Carr but his main interest continues to be in alpines and snowdrops of which he has cultivated over 500 varieties at his home, some of these varieties he actually bred himself.  He also holds the national collections of Anemone nemorosa, Hepaticas and Primula marginata.

His subject  ‘A year round garden’  will be of interest to us all as we wind down from our regular commitments to enjoy our gardens for the summer.
