Southport Chrysanthemum and Gardening Society

Howard Drury and his wife Andrea are two of the society’s most long standing friends and have given us so many interesting lectures over the years.  Howard was born and bred in Lincolnshire and trained in horticulture as a young man, his training mainly being undertaken in Edinburgh Botanics.  He has worked for Central TV on their gardening programmes and has completed 610 broadcasts - an impressive total by anyone’s standards.

Howard and Andrea have developed a programme of gardening tours both in the UK and abroad, and Howard has become adept in his use of computers and productions of videos  to accompany the wide variety of talks that he presents.  He has also been closely involved with charities aiming at furthering the interest of young people in gardening.

An interesting speaker with a wealth of experience we will be delighted to welcome Howard to our meeting and it will be most rewarding for both beginners and the more experienced gardeners among  us.
