Gardening to delight the senses - Sarah Hopps

Tuesday 24 March 2026
19:30 to 21:00

Sarah Hopps is a speaker of wide experience who will give us a talk with the quirky title ‘Gardening to death’  which should arouse interest among members especially in the spring which is the time of rebirth and regrowth.

She is an enthusiastic speaker and traveller with a particular interest in the art of putting the right plant in the right place.  At one time Sarah had her own hardy plant nursery but now spends her time writing, broadcasting, working as a guide on garden holiday tours and giving talks, including appearing on stage at various garden shows and giving demonstrations on a wide variety of subjects.

Her business was run from Thirsk so it will be a pleasure to welcome a visitor from the other side of the Pennines, especially when the visitor is as knowledgeable as Sarah.
