We live in a small South Leicestershire village surrounded by pastures and single crop fields. The grass verges in the village itself are mown every other week. However we hear almost daily stories of climate change and the loss of habitats and species.

So a few residents with a passion for nature formed the Shearsby Nature Group. We had our first meeeting in October 2022 with 15 people attending.

The existence of our group has ruffled a few feathers. However we press on with our passion for nature, determined to enjoy ourselves, learn more and make a difference where we can.

Our aim is to educate people about nature, biodiversity and global heating. We believe that by raising awareness we can stimulate passion, inspire action and ultimately change for the better.

We meet on the first Sunday of each month for practical tasks and anyone is welcome to join us.
