  • Angels of the Hood: The collection and distribution of food continues to be a priority, especially now that costs are rising.
  • Angels of the Hoodwas unexpectedly born in March 2020 and since then it has been taking on the mission to support many of the challenges faced by so many families within our communities by giving them hope wherever it may be most needed.
-Our food supplies are sourced to save the enormous environmental impact of waste food and products from some of the larger supermarkets such as Aldi, Tesco and Sainsburys and supply it to all in need as well as helping other local food banks too such as Epsom & Ewell Food Bank, Kingston Foodbank, and have assisted the community at large in many other ways, for example Kingston Hospital Charity by collecting and donating gifts at Christmas time to give to in-patients and also, more recently, we have arranged help for shipments to support those in most need over in the Ukraine.
Our continued goal and the purpose of our mission therefore is primarily to help and provide those in need and also everyone feeling financial concerns, with food and items needed in everyday life.
To date our mission has been self-funded with only the help of some dedicated volunteers who assist with collection of items from the supermarkets etc and making deliveries to those in need, especially during the Pandemic.
However, it has come to the worrying stage that, to continue to build this vision, which is consistently growing due to the current financial status affecting all, We desperately will need external funding or sponsorship towards the maintenance and running costs of the food market, i.e. electricity for fridges, lighting, fuel costs for deliveries and pick up of surplus food and supplies need to keep the food fresh and weather safe, and our other projects.
In recognition of the work, we have done with the resolute small team, Paul Cockle and his wife, Caryn have received recognition from Her Majesty The Queen's office and also attended a Royal event by invitation.
We are now faced with the dilemma of seeking assistance so that all the good work we wish to achieve can continue well into the future and therefore look to seeking further support. We appeal to you for help and very much look forward to hearing from you or your association in the near future. Thank you in anticipation of your assistance.
