MUCH WENLOCK NEIGHBOURHOOD PLAN

                            REFERENDUM ON THURSDAY 19th MARCH

Although the Much Wenlock Civic Society is in the process of closing down, while it exists, it still retains its' original aims - to preserve and where possible assist with improving Much Wenlock for the benefit of all residents.

To this end, the Committee would like to draw your attention to the imminent Referendum on the Much Wenlock Neighboiurhood Plan:

Finally, after almost four long years of work by a group of Much Wenlock residents (many of whom worked on the original Neighbourhood Plan over a decade ago), and what must seem like endless questions in numerous consultation documents answered by a large number of residents in the town, Referendum Day is nearly here!

Parliament has set out the overall framework for a Neighbourhood Plan Referendum via The Localism Act 2011 and The Neighbourhood Planning (Referendums) Regulations 2012. In accordance with this, the Local Authority, Shropshire Council, has organised the calling of the Referendum, which is set for Thursday March 19th, with voting to take place at Priory Hall.  Postal votes can be requested.

Developers are submitting applications for more housing.  Let’s do what we can to ensure any development is in keeping with the wishes of the residents of our lovely town.  A great way to do this is to get out and vote.  Show your support for a document that aims to have captured those wishes and can give them legal standing for the next decade.

If you have any questions, please email us at mwcivicsociety@gmail.com or speak to any of the Committee or to a member of Much Wenlock Town Council.
