Merrow Horticultural Society

We are a friendly gardening club who meet in the Seminar Room on the 1st floor (lift available) at St John's Centre, 222 Epsom Road, Merrow, Guildford, GU4 7AA on Tuesday evenings in March, April and October and in the Main Hall on the ground floor in November.  See the Events Calendar for more details.  We have illustrated talks on garden-related topics and an informal Evening Show, judged by all present.  The Evening Show is also in the Hall.  We have an Annual Show each year in August/September in the Hall, and arrange a visit to a local garden each summer.  We also have a facebook page with regular updates, picures and discussions.  Members have a 10% discount week at Elm Nursery in Sutton Green in May.

We are affiliated to Surrey Horticultural Federation (SHF) which has details of other local Societies and their talks, shows and visits.  There is also an SHF garden visit organised exclusively for affiliated clubs and their members in the summer - see the SHF website for details.

We are also affiliated to the Royal Horticultural Society. 

Our 2024 garden visit is June 20th, for members and their friends, to Shamley Wood Estate.  Our popular Annual Show will be held on Saturday 31st August and is open to all to enter.   If you are not a member but would like to enter then please contact us on one of the the email addresses below for further details.  Visitors to the Show are always welcome to come in free - tea and cakes are usually available.
