The Lion dance traditionally is used at Chinese New Year to bring in good luck,

but many of the stances used are those of the basic stances used in Kungfu,

hence are good for Kungfu training purposes.

There are two main types of Lion Dance, Northern and Southern.  We do the Southern Lion Dance.

The Southern dance is more symbolic and is usually performed as a ceremony to exorcise

evil spirits and to summon luck and fortune. The southern lion exhibits a wide variety of colour

and has a distinctive head with large eyes, a mirror on the forehead, and a single horn at the

center of the head.

We regularly do demonstrations for Kingston Chinese Association,

London South West Chinese Community Association

and for restaurants in London, Kingston and Wandsworth.
