A “sprightly” grandfather hit by a double-decker bus in front of afternoon shoppers is recovering in hospital from extensive head injuries. Cycling paramedics started treating 70-year-old Jack Maunders within two minutes of the accident in Eden Street, Kingston.
A spokesman for Go-Ahead London, which operates the bus, said: “We can confirm the incident did occur whereby an elderly gentleman was hit by one of our route 213 buses. We are currently helping the investigating authorities with their enquiries.”
