Founded in 1989, KCO has been an important source of support, friendship, news, education, cultural awareness and empowerment for members of the Nigerian Kalabari community in the UK and Ireland. We are a registered charity in England and Wales (no. 1110253).
The Kalabari people are an ethnic group from the Niger Delta region of Nigeria. They are part of the Ijaw group, but are a distinct subgroup with their own dialect and culture.
As a charity, KCO works to reduce poverty through social, educational, and economic development. The charity collaborates with local, national, and international organizations. It also focuses on cultural development and welfare for its members in a multi-cultural Britain.
