The Methodist Church is committed to safeguarding as an integral part of its life and ministry. Safeguarding is about the action the Church takes to promote a safer culture. This means we will:

  • promote the welfare of children, young people and adults
  • work to prevent abuse from occurring
  • seek to protect and respond well to those that have been abused

Safeguarding is everyone's responsibility. We are here to support and help individuals and churches in this role.  If you need any help with safeguarding matters, even if it is just a nagging doubt, there are people who are able to help.

Our ministers have safeguarding training as do our children's workers.  At Hatfield Peverel Methodist church, our current safeguarding lead on site is Nicola Hosking.

If you believe someone is in immediate danger, call the Emergency Services on 999.
You can also complete a referral form on the District website.
