Adult volunteers (18+)

There are over 1,500 adult volunteers who help within Girlguiding Surrey West in so many ways, such as:
- Running a unit as a leader (female) or helper (female or male)
- Helping with the accounts or administration
- Teaching skills such as First Aid, self-defence, bicycle / car maintennce or creative skills like sewing, dance or art or STEM skills such as Lego or adventurous activities like kayaking or climbing
- Social media
- District helpers for occasional event help
- Badge administration
- Supporting one of the local Girlguiding volunteer shops and depots
- Carry out gardening or DIY at a meeting place
- Fundraising for trips and special events
Volunteering can be beneficial in so many ways. You can learn new skills (ever fancied tomahawk throwing?!), boost your CV, as well as making friendships that can last a lifetime Volunteers are supported by local commissioners, can attend training courses and work on qualifications to help develop their skills.
By volunteering with us you can support girls and young women in Cobham District to be their best and have fun & safe adventures as well as becoming part of the Girlguiding Surrey West volunteering community.
