Welcome to the Friends of Pickerings Pasture Local Nature Reserve

The Friends of Pickerings Pasture LNR (FoPP) are a volunteer group based in Halebank, Widnes that help maintain the Pickerings Pasture Local Nature Reserve, alongside Halton Open Spaces.

Pickerings Pasture Local Nature Reserve is a  former landfill site that was reclaimed and opened in 1986 and is now an excellent Wildlife area.  It's a beautiful, peaceful, reviving place with woodlands, wildflower meadows  and a fabulous view across the upper Mersey. Here folk come to enjoy quiet walks - with or without the dog, have family picnics or indulge in a spot of Wildlife watching.

Interested?

The Friends can be found on site on the first Monday of the month, but there is nearly always someone around on a Monday. Look out for a Friend doing  the daily bird feeding between the car park, down by the bird hide/screen or United Utilities path leading to Hale Gate Rd
