Our volunteer Karen was given advice by Graham the grave-digger on how to restore headstone inscriptions. She has scrubbed and cleaned and then restored the lettering - some needing the lettering painting by hand. She has made some excellent transformations.
Update 2026:
Karen has unfortunately been unable to continue due to ill health this year, but we were thrilled to recently discover that another of our volunteers had a hidden talent for painting! Sue has been able to take over the inscription restorations. She has shown infinite patience and dedication in re-painting many more headstone inscriptions.
