Buried in the last grave to be restored in Section 5 of the cemetery is John Pitts Collinson. He was buried on 1st November 1928.
John was born in Idle in 1871, the second son of Alfred and Isabella nee Pitts. He married Eliza Gawthorpe at St. Peter's Church, now Bradford Cathedral, on the 31st January 1898.
For a short time in the early 1900's, John was a licensed victualler at the New Inn, Victoria Road, Eccleshill. Later he and Eliza moved to a cottage in Chapel Street, going back to his former occupation of fish seller. He remained living in Chapel Street until his death in 1928.
His parents Alfred and Isabella are buried in Section 2 of the cemetery along with other members of the family.
