Henry was born in 1864 in Swarby, Lincolnshire to John and Dinah (nee Massingham). He moved away from the area in the 1880’s and found work as a railway bookings clerk. He married his first wife Elizabeth Ackroyd in 1887 but sadly, she passed away in 1892.
The following year he married Clara (nee Lee) who was the niece of his first wife. Henry and Clara had 2 children; Gladys Ellen Wright and George Lee Wright. His career with the railways progressed to Station Master, firstly at Little Horton, secondly at Akroyden near Halifax, and finally at Laisterdyke Station. He passed away in 1918 at the age of 54. His wife Clara passed away in 1941 at the age of 69. Henry and Clara are buried in section 5.
Clara had been a local girl. Her father was James Lee and her mother Sarah Ann (nee Ackroyd). They are buried in section 3, along with other members of their family. Her grandfather was Job Ackroyd who married Elizabeth (nee Thornton). Their daughter Elizabeth was Henry’s first wife, and they are also buried in section 3.
