The Epping Museum is staffed entirely by unpaid volunteers and is open to the public every Saturday until the end of October between 10am and 4:30pm. The entrance to the site is through Epping station car park. If arriving by Central Line, turn left out of the station and walk down the ramp and towards the back of the car park.
If driving, coming from Epping town centre along Station Road turn right just before the railway bridge with yellow chevrons
Continue driving down the slope past the station (& usually buses) on your left and on through the car park. You should be able to see our large yellow locomotive in front of you - our gate is to the right. Please press the bell button if the gate is closed. One of the team will come and let you in.
You can get to Epping Museum in the following ways:
By London Underground Central Line
By far the easiest! Catch a Central Line train to Epping (zone 6) and it’s the last stop on the line. Keep an eye out of the left side (facing travel) train windows shortly before arriving at Epping - you’ll see our bright yellow Locomotive L11. Check your train times on the TfL website
By bus
Several local buses from places such as Waltham Cross, Harlow or Ongar serve the station. The bus stop is right outside the station. Plan your bus journey with Traveline.
By car
Use SatNav postcode CM16 4HW. Turn off the nearby M25 J27 or M11 J6, and follow signs for Epping. When on Epping High Street watch for the Station Road mini roundabout (not the one by the church!). Drive along Station Road until you see a bridge with yellow chevrons. Turn right. A large NCP car park is available at Epping station.
