Welcome to CTC Tayside

CTC Tayside is a member group of Cycling UK that aims to support cycling related activity and provide a programme of sociable and non-competitive rides throughout the year for its members.

We explore the local countryside throughout the Tay area - primarily in Angus Perthshire and Fife, and always have breaks for coffee or lunch (or sometimes both) at some of the area's finest cafés.  Each ride has a leader who will maintain a steady pace and make sure that the group keeps together so you can rest assured that nobody will ever be left behind, and there is always somebody around willing to help with any problems. A series of shorter, even steadier paced midweek runs have been trialled to try to cater for even more of our members and we will be looking to expand these if we can. During the longer days the programme will typically include a number of longer runs, but there are always options for these to be tailored to meet members' needs.

Cycling with CTC Tayside is a great way to get into cycling, build up some fitness or just get some fresh air, explore the wonderful countryside and have fun with cycling buddies. Members are spread out over a large area comprising Dundee, Angus, Fife and Perthshire and we have rides starting from various locations.

Membership of the club is limited to Cycling UK members. However, guests will always be made welcome, and can join up to 3 rides as a non-member, after which they would be requested to join Cycling UK if they wish to continue to ride with us. Membership of Cycling UK is in any case well worthwhile as it gives many benefits including an excellent bi-monthly magazine, inclusive 3rd party insurance and legal advice as well as discounts at various retailers. It also provides cycling resources to over 70,000 members such as route suggestions, technical advice and access to the full national network of around 1,000 Cycling UK clubs, including around hundred of member groups. They also run a programme of cycling holidays.

To join CTC Tayside contact the Chairman or Secretary. You will be asked for your Cycling UK membership number, contact details and permission to store those details (only for the purpose of club business in accordance with GDPR.) If you are not a Cycling UK member but are interested in riding with us as a guest, you can still join our Facebook group.

The future programme of CTC rides can be viewed on this website or on our Facebook Page, which is currently our primary point of contact for members. You will also find run reports there for previous rides.

To access the Facebook Page you need to be a CTC Tayside Facebook Group member. To join that group, go to the Facebook page for CTC Tayside (link below) and place a request to join.
