At Be There 4 U, our core mission has always been to protect, support, and lift up individuals with disabilities, their families, and carers. We believe everyone deserves to feel safe, respected, and valued in their community. Sadly, we know that people with disabilities and vulnerable individuals sometimes face hostility, unfair treatment, or abuse simply because of who they are.
To help change this, we are proud to announce that Be There 4 U Advice Line and Bureau is now an officially recognized Hate Crime Third-Party Reporting Centre.
What is a Third-Party Reporting Centre?
We know that reporting a hate crime or a hostile incident directly to the police can feel intimidating, stressful, or overwhelming. Many incidents go unreported because victims don't know where to turn or feel uncomfortable speaking to authorities.
As a Third-Party Reporting Centre, we act as a safe, neutral bridge. You can come to us to report any incident of abuse, harassment, or bullying. Our fully trained team will listen to your experience with complete empathy, fill out the necessary forms, and submit them to the authorities on your behalf—completely anonymously if you prefer.
You Are Safe With Us
A hate incident can include anything from verbal abuse, online bullying, and intimidating behavior to physical harm or vandalism. If you or someone you care for has been targeted because of a disability, race, religion, sexual orientation, or gender identity, please know that you do not have to carry that burden alone.
When you report through us, we promise:
  • A Kind, Non-Judgmental Space: Your story will be received with warmth, dignity, and absolute confidentiality.
  • No Pressure: You control your report. If you want to report it just so the data is tracked, without police involvement, we can help with that.
  • Ongoing Advocacy: Beyond the paperwork, we are here to support your well-being and guide you to further specialized emotional or practical care.
