The Bosnia and Herzegovina Community Advice Centre (BHCAC) is one of Brent’s longest-standing community charities, dedicated to reducing poverty and supporting people facing socio-economic challenges.

Rooted in lived experience and guided by compassion, we offer person-centred support to individuals and families from all communities in Brent, as well as the British Bosnian community across London.

As a user-led membership organisation, we are governed by a dedicated board of five elected trustees, all of whom are also beneficiaries.

Our day-to-day work is carried out by a small but committed team of two full-time equivalent staff and six volunteers, many with lived experience of the issues our clients face.

This unique structure ensures that everything we do is shaped with empathy, authenticity, and a deep understanding of local needs.

We provide holistic and continuous support on multiple and complex issues faced by disadvantaged and marginalised people

What started as a grassroots volunteer initiative has since grown into a trusted charity of bilingual advisors, legal specialists, and mental health professionals bringing lived experience into every aspect of their work.

At BHCAC, we provide free, independent, confidential and effective support

Long term partnerships backed by our incredible funders empowers our communities and helps them thrive
