We are a group who remember all the good/bad times we all had and creating a legacy for our school. This group exist for us to celebrate a special school with special teachers, pupils, parents and staff that will live with us forever.
Originally named Save Baverstock this group was constituted as an organisation in June 2016 as a response to the possible closure of The Baverstock Academy.
A private Facebook Group was formed which now has over 4,000 members.
If you have memories of Baverstock or Maypole School why not join in, meet some old friends and share some memories, help with the fund raising, come to an event , organise an event, join the committee(boring), or our latest venture ,join the archive team and get to laugh at lots of old photos and name those featured.
Together we have laughed and cried and fought side by side to keep our school, our community and its legacy alive.
Although the building has now gone Baverstocks heart; its people, is still very much alive and kicking around the world.
Our mission now is to support each other in any way possible. Pre pandemic we had reunion parties whilst during the pandemic members fund raised for other members funerals with Rev Coleman there to write our prayers and support the grieving.
As we move forward into the future we recognise the power and comfort in unity and the strength that can give each of us to embrace the future
In the immediate future our aims revolve around the regeneration of Druids Heath and what is to become of the land our school stood on and campaigning and raising funds to ensure that some space is given back to the community for that which has been lost by the next generation.
We are open to all ideas so please get in touch
Thank you for your interest in our group
