Banstead May Fayre is an annual event to raise money for charity normally held on the first Saturday in May. The fayre which started in 1985 is organised by The Banstead Village May Queen Group and is Chaired each year by the mother of the May Queen.
The fayre held in The Orchard on Banstead High Street is an exiting and fun community event for all the family with stalls, rides and entertainment for all. Many local businesses, organisations and shops all get involved as well as the two local schools who provide traditional country dancing around the Maypole.
The day starts with a parade leaving the United Reformed Church, Woodmansterne Lane, Banstead at 11.30am. travels along the High Street and into The Orchard infront of All Saints Church for the crowning of the May Queen and the opening of the fayre.
The afternoon is packed with different arena events from local groups, including dance, choirs, cheerleaders and a host more.
