Counselling Services

At ASCA, we provide advice, information and counselling to people who feel that their lives are affected by alcohol, drugs or other addictions. Our clients have the option of booking one-to-one sessions with a counsellor or group sessions with people experiencing similar problems - but no matter which option thay choose, all sessions take place within a safe, confidential and non-judgement enviroment. Counselling contracts run initially for 12 consecutive weeks and can extend as necessary.

I would recommend this service to anyone who thinks they might have a problem and are seeking to take the first step

The only place in Kingston I could find affordable counselling that I can attend on a long term basis

Carers Support

Relations with partners, relatives, carers or friends can all suffer as a result of addiction. So we also offer one-to-one counselling and group therapy for those who are caring or coming to terms with somebody else's struggle with addiction.

I am quite new to the group for carers of addicts. At first I thought it may not be the right group for me, however, after only a few sessions, I realised that many of the stories and problems of other group members resonated very strongly with me. I find the group incredibly supportive.  It is through each person’s bravery and honesty in sharing their particular situations that is the strength of the group. The facilitators are extraordinary in their depth of knowledge of addiction and the human condition and their sure hands holding the group add to the strength offered to each person. Everyone in the group understands utterly the journey and trials of each other and therefore offer the most profound support and empathy. It has been a life saver for me
