Herald the Games
The Olympics provided a unique opportunity to engage new participants for the arts in Surrey and to showcase the arts to new national and international audiences persuaded to try new activity by the Olympic brand.
Surrey was an official host county for London 2012 and featured the following events: the last evening stop of the Olympic Torch before it travelled onto London (20 Jul 2012); the Olympic Cycling Road Races (28-29 July 2012) and the Olympic Cycling Time Trial event (1 Aug 2012). Herald the Games supported eight communities in creating their own grass roots celebrations of the games.
