The Group was officially formed in 1970 though there had been some Section meetings before that time. Initially, the meetings took place in Little Kingshill Village Hall but very quickly a massive fund-raising effort took place and the present building was erected during 1972-3. The majority of work was undertaken by a small army of parents.
In the intervening years there have been many changes: to uniforms, to programmes, to leaders and of course to the children some of whom, though now grown up, have remained closely involved with the Group. |
