In the last few months, some of us have discussed how we might combine to negotiate maintenance contracts for some of the equipment in our houses. So far we have identified the following items:

  • underfloor heating and hot water
  • iMist sprinkler system
  • velux window
  • fire curtain safety systems
  • Quooker hot water system.



Underfloor heating and hot water - Wright Mainenance

Please see below an email from Wright Maintenance setting out the terms for an annual service for underfloor heating and hot water.

Specifically, as described below, it would cover maintenance of the heat interface unit, underfloor heating and mechanical extract vent.

(Currently Anchor Hanover provide an annual service on the heat interchange unit; that is the connection between the central and individual heating systems. They do not provide any servicing for the underfloor heating or hot water, or for anything within the boundaries of your flat.) 

The price quoted represents a 15% discount and would amount to £253.98, VAT included, a saving of £44.82.

If further people were to sign up, we could probably obtain a reduction of about 20%.

They also informed me that a call-out would cost £90 + VAT.

It has also been suggested that residents approach Anchor Hanover to get the cost of the annual heat interchange service deducted from their service charge if they use Wright. If you pursue this, please let others know how you get on with this via the discussion board.
