Bluebells Forget My Name
In Springtime the bluebells in Wembury Wood are a quite remarkable sight to behold and one can feel transported....
As part of the Plymouth and South Devon Community Forest initiative, the woods at Wembury are set to expand by 84 hectares, with plans to plant 90,000 new trees and create two and a half miles of new hedgerows and banks. The expanded woodland will support a rich variety of wildlife—including bats, hares, small rodents, and barn owls—and will be made up of over 25 native tree species.
Verse
I stepped through hush by silver tide
Past roots that watch and trees that hide
A path unrolled where no one stood
And time went soft in Wembury Wood
Chorus
Bluebells forget my name
Scatter it deep then bloom again
The woods remember but never say
Just nod and let me drift away
Outro
Bluebells turning blue to grey
Bluebells lead the path away
Bluebells bloom then fade from view
Bluebells wait but not for you
