The Impact of Tourism on the Environment

Tourism is by some measures the world’s largest industry and
our urge to travel often has adverse consequences for nature
and the environment, including greenhouse gas emissions. This
talk presents case studies from destinations around the world
and gives examples from the speaker’s career experience as an
environmental scientist. It also discusses ways in which tourism
could be made to be more responsible and sustainable.
