The Warlingham Methodist Church Badminton Club was founded in 1972 by Laurie and Omer Parmenter and managed to continue playing until the COVID-19 lockdowns arrived in March 2020.
Regretfully, the club was never able to reopen and officially closed down in January 2024.
We were a social club and played just for fun and a bit of exercise.
We did not play in competitions or local leagues and we did not require a high standard of play. We did not have training facilities for absolute beginners, but so long as you knew how to play, that was probably good enough!
Even if you had not played for years, you were welcome to come along one evening and see if you would like to play regularly again. Occasional players were also welcome.
The club used to meet in the Methodist Church hall, Limpsfield Road on most Thursday evenings from 8.10 pm until about 10 pm.
