Trustees

Our trustees guide our strategic direction, bringing a wealth of expertise and knowledge to our organisation.

Joint Chair Cherill Scott has been a WCA Trustee since 2012. She has been a Wandsworth resident for many years. During this time her voluntary activities in the Borough have included: serving on the governing bodies of a primary and secondary school; acting as a Manager under the Mental Health Act at Springfield Hospital; chairing the former Wandsworth & East Merton Community Health Council, followed by a term on Wandsworth & East Merton District Health Authority.

Joint Chair Elizabeth joined the WCA Board as a Trustee in 2013 and has spent her professional life in teaching, in secondary education predominantly with the Girls' Day School Trust, and as a tutor in higher education in HMP Wandsworth.

Trustee Avril Horsford first joined the WCA as a volunteer member of Healthwatch Wandsworth, Enter and View team; and became a WCA Trustee in May 2019. As a trustee, her current focus is with jointly delivering the shared objectives of fellow WCA trustees; with a particular interest in supporting health and well-being through community engagement and cohesion.

Trustee Tom joined the WCA Board as a Trustee in September 2019. Tom specialises in corporate governance, assurance, and board development and has more than six years' experience supporting organisations in healthcare, government, higher education, sports and the voluntary sectors. He has led significant quality improvement, redesign and strategy support programmes with clients across the UK, giving him insight into best practice delivery.

Trustee Stephen joined the WCA Board as a Trustee in April 2020, and was appointed Chair of Healthwatch Wandsworth from the same date. He had previously served as Lay Member and Vice Chair of NHS Wandsworth Clinical Commissioning Group, and its predecessor the Primary Care Trust. He is a former Chair of St George's Hospital Charity.

Trustee Hicky joined the WCA Board in January 2021. She is CEO at Kingston Charitable Foundation, having previously worked at Age UK Wandsworth in Fundraising and Volunteer Management for 11 years.
