The Latest from the Tamar Historic Transport Club
Our last Autojumble was not blessed with good weather but was still I think a success with not quite as many people through the gate as last year but enough to satisfy the many stallholders and for us to make a profit to go towards our this years charities. We have another Autojumble coming up on Good Friday 30th March this is always a very well attended event and we are expecting a bumper year this year as unfortunately The Devon Vintage Car Club's Autojumble at Hatherliegh has been cancelled because the Hatherleigh cattle market site is to be developed. We sincerely wish them good luck with finding another venue as soon as possible. We have a car run on the 25th February, followed by a pub lunch. Meeting at the Old Cattle Market car park Liskeard at 9.45 for a 10.15 start.
We recently had our annual dinner at the Whitsand bay hotel, which was an excellent event with great food and great company, attended by 54 people including six guests from our three charities from last year who were Tavistock riding for the disabled carriage driving group, The Tavistock memory cafe and the Callington memory cafe. We presented cheques totaling £2,370 with the carriage driving group getting half of the sum with the two memory cafe's sharing the other half. Most of the money raised is from our two Autojumbles each year so please come and attend these events and help us to donate to LOCAL charities. We have another weekend away for our members at the lovely Cottage Hotel at Hope Cove in March and many events to attend as a club in the coming summer.
