  • About the next Quick Read:  They can’t see her, but she can see them… Simone has a secret. She likes to stand at her bathroom window and spy on the couple downstairs through their kitchen skylight. She knows what they eat for breakfast and who they’ve got over for dinner. She knows what mood they’re in before they even step out the door. There’s nothing wrong with looking, is there?  Until one day Simone sees something through the skylight she is not expecting. Something that upsets her so much she begins to plot a terrible crime…  From the author of Our House, the British Book Awards Crime & Thriller of the Year
  • About the Author, Louise Candlish Hello and welcome! I am the author of 14 novels, a fact I can't quite believe myself. The Other Passenger is my newest - I'm so excited about this one! It's a very modern thriller set on the Thames in 2019, but with a mood of Hitchcock and noir classics like 'Double Indemnity'. It's my first ever Richard & Judy Book Club pick and has been longlisted for the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award 2021, which makes me very happy. I really hope you enjoy it.

My thriller Our House is the book that turned my career around - right when I was about to give up. It won the 2019 British Book Awards Book of the Year - Crime & Thriller and was shortlisted for the Goldsboro Books Glass Bell Award, the Capital Crime Amazon Publishing Best Crime Novel of the Year Award, and the Audible Sounds of Crime Award. It was also longlisted for the Theakston Old Peculier Crime Novel of the Year Award and the Specsavers National Book Awards. A #1 bestseller in paperback, ebook and audiobook, it has sold over 250,000 copies in the UK and is soon to be a major four-part drama for ITV. I couldn't have asked for more, really, and feel so proud that readers are continuing to discover it and recommend it far and wide.

A bit about me: I live in a South London neighbourhood not unlike the one in my books, with my husband, teenage daughter, and a fox-red Labrador called Bertie who is almost two and is the apple of my eye. Books, TV and long walks have been my top sanity savers during lockdown. Oh, and wine.

For more book news (and doting pictures of Bertie), catch me on Twitter @louise_candlish, on Instagram @louisecandlish or find out more at louisecandlish.com and facebook.com/LouiseCandlishAuthor. I'd love to hear from you.
