Where now for progressive politics?

South West Surrey Compass is a local group of progressive minded people seeking a more equal, more compassionate and more sustainable future - summed up by the phrase "The Good Society". It consists of a range of people from the "progressive" political parties, including Labour, the Lib Dems and the Greens and people from no political party seeking an alternative to the dominant force of right wing politics in the locality. We believe that listening to each other and working together on areas where we agree is much more productive than traditional sectarian politics - and can bring about real results.

The meeting on Wednesday 5th October is entitled "Where now for progressive politics?", and the keynote speakers will include:

- Caroline Lucas MP (Green Party)

- Vince Cable (Lib Dems)

- Sue Goss (Writer and Compass Associate)

with others to be confirmed, including local speakers.

The meeting will explore the possibility for a progressive alliance in the context of the current political landscape and following the outcomes of the autumn party conferences.
