In June - Fairoaks Airport dates back to 1931 and has been a private airfield for many yeras. We were shown around the airport by Stephen Wood, Company Secretary, who gave a fascinating and relaxed tour of the control tower, hangers and the airport runways. We were lucky enough to be shown around various private planes and helicopters, a WWII blister hanger and the London Transport Flying Group base, used as a rest room for trainee WWII pilots.
