On Sunday 18th June 2023, the club celebrated its 40th anniversary. 26 members, former members and friends met at Newlands Corner for the celebration. The Programme Organiser led a walk for 14 people, while 8 did a short walk around Newlands Corner.
The walk on 19th February 2022 has been cancelled due to severe weather.
The walking programme has now reopened for the October to December 2021 quarter.
Following easing of lockdowns, the club was able to hold its annual garden party on Saturday 21st August 2021. As it was out of doors, members were able to meet again for a social gathering.
Due to further lockdowns, the club were unable to organise a walking holiday for 2021. We are hoping for the best for 2022.
Due to continuing lockdowns, the club had to cancel its planned summer walking holiday in Scotland for 2020.
On 18th March 2020, following government instructions and the Ramblers Association policy, it was decided to suspend all walks.
On 10th January 2020, the secretary gave an interview to Mark Carter of BBC Radio Surrey and Sussex about Surrey County Walkers, that was to be used in a programme the following Sunday morning.
In June 2019 seven members enjoyed a walking holiday in Appenzell, Switzerland.
On 21st March 2019 at 1240, the Programme Organiser gave an interview to Mark Carter of BBC Radio Surrey and Sussex about Surrey County Walkers and footpath maintenance. This interview was broadcast live.On Sunday 2nd September 2018 the club finished walking the Basingstoke Canal, walking from Woking to the junction with the Wey navigation at New Haw.
Several members of the club went on holiday to the Black Forest in July 2018 (see pictures under Walking Holidays).
On Saturday 1st July 2017, the club finished walking the Thames Path north bank in London as far as Canary Wharf.
On Sunday 14th May 2017, the club finished walking the Ridgeway.
From 17th to 22nd May 2017, the club had a walking holiday in Scotland, walking the South Loch Ness Trail (see pictures under Walking Holidays).
From 19th to 24th May 2016, the club had a walking holiday in the Scottish Borders, walking from Galashiels to Kelso, roughly following the River Tweed (see pictures under Walking Holidays).
.On 12th November 2014, the club finished walking the Thames Path, reaching the Thames Barrier on a damp and murky afternoon (see pictures under Walking Holidays).
On Friday 24th October 2014, a group of 24 members and guests enjoyed the annual club dinner which was held at Il Rustico Italian restaurant in Chobham.
On 20th July 2014, Surrey County Walkers led a walk for the Guildford Walking Festival, Walkfest. As this year was the centenary of the outbreak of the First World War, the walk visited war memorials in Guildford, Blackheath and Shalford (see pictures under Photo Album).
On Saturday 12th July 2014, the club met for its annual summer evening garden party at the chairman's house in Elstead.
In May 2014, a group went to Switzerland for a week of walks in the Swiss Jura, led by a member of the group who originally came from that area.
On Friday 25th October 2013, the group met for its annual October dinner.
On Sunday 28th July 2013, Surrey County Walkers led a walk for the Guildford Walking Festival (Walkfest). The walk went through the castle grounds, the quarry gardens, down to the River Wey, beside the River Wey, up the Mount, across to the cathedral for a visit and back to the station. From 8th to 12th July 2013, a group of 4 members went on a package walking holiday in the Rhineland, based at Remagen.
On Saturday 6th July 2013, about 30 members of Surrey County Walkers met at the chairman's house in Elstead for the summer garden party.

Six members of the group enjoyed a walking holiday from 22nd to 29th June 2013 in the Peak District of Derbyshire, walking the Monsal Trail, based on the old railway line from Matlock to Buxton. See Walking Holidays for a description and pictures.

On 14th May 2011, 16 members of the club and friends walked through the Hindhead Tunnel which was open for pedestrians for the day, in advance of the opening for motor traffic. See Photo Album for a picture.
On 10th April, a group of 11 members and partners went to Scotland to walk the old railway route from Callander to Killin in The Trossachs. We then went on to Oban and did a trip to Iona. For more details, click on WALKING HOLIDAYS.
On Friday 22nd October 2010, the group enjoyed our October dinner. This year, the dinner was held at The Barley Mow, West Horsley (see pictures).
On Saturday 4th September 2010, we walked the first stage of the Mid Sussex Border Path from East Grinstead to Horsted Keynes.
On Wednesday 7th July, we had our summer evening walk around Virginia Water lake (see pictures in Photo Album).
On Sunday 2nd May 2010, the group completed walking the Sussex Border Path from Bodiam to Rye. For pictures, see the Photo Album. On Bank Holiday Monday (3rd May), the group explored Rye and also walked on to Winchelsea and back.

On 23rd October 2009, the group again held its annual dinner at the YMCA in Guildford (see photo)
On 26th July 2009, about 30 members of the group and friends and relations enjoyed a boat trip on the Wey and Arun Canal from their centre at Loxwood. This year, we had a bigger boat to allow for more members to come along. See pictures in PhotoAlbum.
On 19th July 2009, our walk from the Chantries car park in Guildford was our contribution to the Guildford Walkfest. 10 people from the Walkfest came to join us on our walk up through the Chantries, up to St Martha's church (see picture), along the Downs Link to Chinthurst Hill (see picture) and back along beside the River Wey.
On 8th July, seventeen members enjoyed our summer evening walk from Shere. On our return to Shere, we found a group of Morris Dancers performing (see picture).
On 24th October 2008, the group held a dinner at the YMCA in Guildford. 30 people (members and spouses) enjoyed a dinner in well appointed surroundings (see photo).
On 30th August 2008, twelve members of the group enjoyed a boat trip on the Wey and Arun Canal, organised by the Wey and Arun Canal Trust (see photo album for picture).
Surrey County Walkers celebrated their 25th anniversary with a walk from Newlands Corner on 22nd June 2008. The walk was led by the club's founder.
